The Land Rover Defender Manhart is the most badass of all!

Manhart has unveiled a modified version of the Land Rover Defender that it dubs the DP 500. Its sporty look gives it a totally extreme look.

It's the baddest! While the new Land Rover Defender was designed to be the ultimate off-roader, the truth is that most owners won't actually drive it in rough terrain. Thus, Manhart's modified example focuses on performance on pavement, rather than trying to improve its off-road capabilities. In this way, it will be much more suitable for the customers' use, even if it will lose some of its off-road acumen. The German tuner started with the Defender P400 AWD variant, which hides a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine developing 400 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque.

A simple reprogramming of the engine mapping brings the power to 512 horsepower and 710 Nm of torque, which means it has about the same power as the upcoming Defender equipped with the 5.0-liter V8. Otherwise, Manhart has equipped a stainless steel exhaust system offered with carbon or ceramic tailpipes. Customers can also choose upgraded brakes and have Manhart lower the air suspension by 30 mm.

The Defender's appearance has also been modified with the installation of 24-inch wheels wrapped in 295/30 tires. If customers don't want such massive wheels, smaller 22-inch wheels are also available with 295/40 tires. Manhart also offers to paint the engine cover and fender extensions in gloss black and can also install some small, specific body elements.

A handful of modifications can also be seen in the interior, including the installation of new Alcantara and leather upholstery. Manhart can also offer to put Recaro seats for the driver and front passenger. In short, this extreme Defender is simply the toughest of the tough.
