Car wash: what's the difference between the programs?

For the purpose of the experiment, we took two white cars that needed to be cleaned.

For one of them, we opted for the cheapest wash, a basic one at 9 euros.

For the second one, we decided to take the most expensive program, a thorough wash and a Teflon treatment for 13 euros.

Between the two, there is a difference of four euros. Yes, but... Will we see it when we leave the carwash?

What is the difference after washing?

First of all, you should know that the pre-wash is the same for car A and car B. It is only in the next step, in the automatic car wash, that the difference in cleaning takes place with Teflon.

Five minutes later, the cars are clean. Both of them. The A and the B are immaculate white.

From a distance, it's impossible to tell which one had which program because they look so similar. Only solution then, to get closer to touch them... And there, yes, you can feel the difference right away. The body of car B is very smooth thanks to Teflon, which promises to protect from micro-scratches, salt, resin and external aggressions.

In order to check its effectiveness over time, we let three days pass and we dirtied cars A and B in the same way.

The final verdict: the car that had not received the Teflon treatment showed small scratches and had well embedded mud stains. The other car had its body well protected and the mud did not dry immediately after being sprayed on it.

With or without Teflon?

In conclusion, the Teflon treatment does protect the bodywork. But if you just want to wash your car, the cheapest program does the job very well.
